Flowchart Maker
A full BPMN 2.0 process editor. Organise work into departments (pools) with multiple lanes, drop in every standard BPMN shape — events, activities, gateways, data objects and annotations — connect them with sequence, default, message or association flows, and export the result as SVG, PNG, PDF or JSON. Re-import the JSON later to keep editing.
Departments & lanes (1 dept · 1 lane)
Set the height per lane to make a department bigger. The canvas grows as needed — when it's wider than the viewport you can scroll inside, and PDF export auto-rotates to landscape for wide diagrams.
Auto-saved in your browser's localStorage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use this flowchart maker
- Use the dropdowns above the canvas to add an event, activity, gateway or data shape — each one drops into the first lane.
- Set up departments by adding a Pool per team and a Lane per role inside it. Drag a shape between lanes to reassign it.
- Tap a shape and use Connect to existing shape to draw an arrow to another one. Pick the connection type in the editor.
- Open the editor on a shape to rename it, change its lane, resize it, or delete it.
- Click Export to save the diagram as SVG, PNG, PDF or JSON. Re-import the JSON later to continue editing.
Frequently asked questions
What is BPMN 2.0?
Business Process Model and Notation — the international standard for drawing business processes. It defines events (round), activities (rounded rectangles with sub-types), gateways (diamonds with symbols inside), data objects, swimlanes for departments, and three connection types.
What is the difference between sequence flow and message flow?
Sequence flow is a solid line showing the order of work inside one department. Message flow is a dashed line that crosses department boundaries — used between pools to show information passing between teams.
How do I assign a shape to a department?
Drag it into that department's lane on the canvas, or open the shape in the editor and pick the lane from the dropdown.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. The shape categories scroll horizontally above the canvas, the editor slides up from the bottom when you tap a shape, and the canvas itself is pinch-zoomable.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The diagram is built and saved entirely in your browser.
