Frequently asked questions
What's a standard tip in the US?
15-20% on the pre-tax amount is standard. 20% is the modern default for table service; 18% for average; 22-25% for excellent service or large groups.
Should I tip on tax?
Many people don't. Toggle 'Bill includes tax' and enter the tax amount to calculate the tip on the pre-tax subtotal instead.
What does 'round up per person' do?
Each person's share gets rounded up to the next whole currency unit, making payment cleaner. The total tip increases slightly to absorb the rounding.
